India’s Tour of Australia ended successfully with a triumph that set India on the pages of cricket history. While riding high on the victory note, India is getting ready to face England in England’s tour of India that lasts from the 5th of February to the 28th of March. The tournaments are organized in three venues across India- Chennai, Ahmedabad, and Pune.
India is currently in the second position in the ICC Test Rankings and many of the Indian players hold positions in the Top Ten Test Players of the World. Virat Kohli currently holds 4th position in the ICC Test Batting Rankings followed by Pujara in the 6th position and Ajinkya Rahane at the 8th position. Among the Bowlers, Ravichandran Ashwin holds the 8th position followed by Jasprit Bumrah in the 9th. Ravindra Jadeja is in the third position among the ICC Test All Rounder Rankings followed by Ravichandran Ashwin.
Apart from these Indian players, Rishabh Pant and Shubhman Gill who have stood out to be the heroes of the Australian tour, Mohammad Siraj and Washington Sundar who shined with their skills, and KL Rahul and Ishant Sharma are some of the players that be impactful in the series.
England has also put together a pretty strong team of which 5 players are among the Top Ten in ICC Test Rankings. Joe Root the hero of the Sri Lankan tour is in the fifth position among the Batsmen and Ben Stokes who has been rested for the Sri Lankan tour is in the first position among the all-rounders and the 10th position among the Batsmen.
The team also possesses Bowlers Stuart Broad and James Anderson in the second and 6th position among the Top Ten Bowlers and Chris Woakes in the 9th position among the All-Rounders. Apart from these players, Pacer Jofra Archer, Moeen Ali, Jack Leach, and Dom Bess are also part of the announced squad that can put up a strong fight against India.
With both the teams riding on a victory high, the competition is expected to be fierce and there is no clear way of predicting the winners of the championship. The Test series comprises of 4 Test matches scheduled on 5th, 13th, 24th of February, and on 4th of March. Two of the test matches have been organized in Pune and two will be played in Ahmedabad. All the tests begin at 9:30 AM IST / 4 AM GMT except the third match which is a Pink Ball Test and begins at 2:30 AM IST/ 9 AM GMT.
